I lagged behind in steals and batting average but decided to punt both of those categories the last month and strengthen my power numbers. I drafted John Smoltz and Manuel Corpas and I got nothing from either of them. My key to winning was to hold on to my waiver priority to pick up CC Sabathia when he came up on waivers. Before the All-Star break I traded Lance Berkman for Johan Santana, which saved my season, after that Berkman went into a decline. Santana and Sabathia carried my team getting me wins and strikeouts and lowering my ERA and WHIP. I did pick up Salomon Torres for saves, after Corpas lost the job, and he was able to convert 28 chances. Overall a very successful league for me as I was in 3^rd place at the beginning of September and ended up winning by 5.5 points.
